i will give you a few seconds to tray and figure out the tribe i am writing about ........

The tribe i am writing about are the deaf, they are the smallest tribe in Kenya, i don,t know their exact numbers but they are united by the fact that sign language is the only language they know and will ever use,so regardless of there background in terms of tribe there is only one homogenious sign language in Kenya called Kenyan sign language.

i have had the chance to interact  with this group of individuals in the varies centers i have been to so far and i have really been impresed by there cohesion and unity and willingness to accept visitors in to there midest. so if you are looking for the true picture of Kenya in all it, shades and diversity you will get it hear.

The reason for this great unity is the fact that they are have realized that they need each other and that they are they have got,because in most cases community members in which they come from don,t even bother to learn the language and thus their exists are parallel universes for the hearing and for deaf. these situation is so bad that in most deaf schools the students prefer to remain in school during holidays than going home because there is no one to talk to at home.

To really appreciate there situation you really have to place your self in to there shoe,can you image yourself  with no radio, Tv, etc. the worst i can think of this situation is during a black out at night . so imagine doing simple tasks like going to buy some thing or looking for a job for that matter.

so in a time we are tring to put this country back together after the violence ,we should not forget this community and we can simply mitigate the above challenges by learning sign language,which is very easy to learn and the most interresting.the governmemt shouid also make the language to be one of the official national languages.

this individuals can also teach kenyans a lot in terms of unity,becouse just like them kenyans have many things that unite use and supercide all other considerations .
