Help
This is where you will find all the help you need to make the most of DOT's on-line resources.
If this is your first time here, be sure to check out the DOT Website Overview, which will explain how everything is organised and how to find what you are looking for.
Welcome to the Help area. This is where you will find all the support and resources you need to make the most effective use of DOT's Information Technology (IT) resources, such as this web site and your DOT e-mail account. We recognise that using technology effectively is more about people than technology, so we're going to keep adding to and improving this area to answer your questions and make sure you have everything you need to succeed.
If you have an account on the system, please post your ideas, suggestions and comments in the General Help Form in the Discussions area. We need to hear what you think, and what you feel will help make the services we provide most effective for you.
Here's what you will find available in this area:
- The How-To Centre is where you will find tutorials, answers to your questions (FAQs) and other material to help you learn how to use the system, and give you the help you need, when you need it.
- The Resources area contains items, such as links to other web sites and documents, that will provide information which is broader and less task-focused.
- The Discussions area contains the General Help Forum, where you can ask for assistance, contribute suggestions, post feedback and help others with any problems. You can participate just by sending e-mail, so go to the General Help and subscribe now!
- Get Support provides several easy-to-use forms for requesting support and making special requests, such as when you need a project community set up. And for simple requests, you can just e-mail support@dotrust.org.
- The Blog will be our on-line newsletter, where we will tell you about what we are planning, coming enhancements, and share some "behind the scenes" stories of building DOT's IT.
- In the News area, we will post news of coming updates and other developments.
- And in the Events area, we will let you know about important dates, such as system maintenance.
We look forward to helping you make the most of the resources we provide, and encourage your feedback as to how we can make our services the best they can be.
