- Many of you are probably aware of open source software and its benefits, but on the off-chance you are not, I'd like to share what I know in the hopes you will come to appreciate open source as much as I do. I'm not going to try and convince you that open-source is inherently better than, or even always preferable to, commercial software because (like many things in life) there is not always one solution to a given problem. Open source software is not the end-all be-all answer, but boy is it useful.
