The Nairobi One Stop Youth Information Resource Centre is a youth-led centre that provides a space for youth to meet and become involved in transforming their lives and their communities. It enables youth to have a voice in local community development and planning processes, and to access resources. Through forming structures that engage young people in decision-making systems with their local authorities, the One Stop model promotes youth led - development and governance, facilitating their engagement in designing and implementing programs that build sustainable communities.

Established in 2003 by the City Council of Nairobi, the centre seeks to increase opportunities for youth information and participation in development at all levels, guiding and offering companionship to them with possibilities of being economical and socially integrated in the society. Currently the centre focuses on the following areas:

  1. Education
  2. Employment, Career guidance & Training
  3. Entrepreneurship
  4. Environment
  5. Health & social issues
  6. Citizenship

The One Stop Youth Information Resource Centre isa DOT Kenya community partner and has been one of the venues where our interns deliver the Reach Up programme. So far, 53 community  participants have completed the classroom modules at One Stop with 54 community participants presently taking these modules now.

We wish to thank the management of the One Stop Youth Information and Resource Centre and look forward to a fruitful partnership.
