Miss Koch is a renaissance of the Korogocho youth, founded in 2001. It was established by the youth of Korogocho who came together to respond to girls rights' violations that were rife in the area at the time.  Since its inception Miss Koch mission has evolved, from the emancipation of the girl child to the fundamental transformation of the entire area of Korogocho and other non-formal settlements in Kenya.

Miss Koch Initiative which envisions and aims to create a society that respects and promotes wholesome development of its male and female members.  In addition, its mission is to provide a platform for the youth of Korogocho, in particular girls and women to participate effectively in the socio-economic and political development processes.

To ensure effectiveness the initiative has four substantive programs, these include :

  • WADADA - Girl rights, empowerment and education
  • DARAJA - Human rights, good governance, peace and conflict management
  • BADILIKA - HIV/Aids and Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health
  • BURUDIKA - Talent, skill and capacity development. 15 community participants are currently in class taking the Reach Up! programme at their centre in Korogocho. We look forward to strengthening this partnership even further.
