July participants of DOT Ethiopia
For many DOT Ethiopia ReachUp! participants who are now ready for the program graduation of the training, participants from Chilanchle are among them.
In Addis Ababa, Kirkose Sub city youth from Chilanchile Anti AIDS Association have taken ReachUp! Currently the youth live around the sub city. They come from lower level class families. Parents are not able to cover their children's tuition. Most youth have no any idea about business skills, self empowerment and ICT before they join in the ReachUp! training but the training helps them to get new basic skills.
After the training, the youth create different business ideas and currently they are participating in their own projects to prepare a business plan through coaching and mentoring. Before they begin their project preparations, they assess different business ideas but among them they selected a Children’s playground, Computer training center, Barber shop, and Bakery. The training encourages them to think about other opportunities around them and develop their ICT skill. In addition, the ReachUp! training helps them to be creative, active and energetic.
