DOT Ethiopia and Kenya prepare for a new round of ReachUp! Intern training

by Gillian Brewin — last modified 2008-02-20 14:50

DOT Ethiopia recently met with DOT Kenya in Nairobi to prepare for this year's ReachUp! training of Interns.  Both teams immediately identified key experiences and lessons that could easily be applied to this year.  Working together enabled the teams to focus on key programs and logistics necessary for a successful training.  Kenya is well situated and well organized, sensitive to the present situation which is now being slowly reconciled.

Two key areas for future collaboration between the teams are a willingness to share our programming ideas and plans that go beyond our core ReachUp! program.  As we both respond to community needs as a result of our training new and creative ideas will emerge.  Both teams are keen to share these future development needs and program possibilities. Another key area where the two teams can collaborate is exploring core ReachUp! program support from regional bodies in the area.

DOT Ethiopia would like to thank Kenya for sharing so much, working so hard and being really wonderful people!  We look forward to working together on our future strategies in the coming months and years.
