X300 muli-box by Daniel (Gabe) Smith — last modified 2007-11-01 15:57
Petal High School is evaluating the xtenda x300 multi box system created by NComputing. The x300 expansion kit allows up to 7 simultaneous users on a single PC. Each kit comes with one PCI card, three RJ45 output ports and three terminal boxes to connect using a CAT5 cable. After you set it up, the PC and the three X300 terminals run simultaneously and independently of each other. NComputing also offers the L130 and L230 series multi box expansion kits which allow up to 30 users to connect to one PC. This product has proven to be great for a lab type setting. It also provides up to an 80% savings on initial hardware cost and future upgrades. You simply have to upgrade one server, which is a lot cheaper than buying 30 new PC's.
