An eBoard Introduction

by Andrew P. Simmons last modified 2008-05-09 20:12

This workshop was held in January 2008 on the teachers' planning periods.

In this activity you will learn how to post a note on the school's eBoard. You will then create a professional introduction of yourself and post it on the eBoard.

Posting on Your Grade's eBoard Tab

First, you need to get to the school's eBoard:

Next, you need to access the “post/edit mode” of the eBoard:

  • Find the link in the upper right hand corner that is labeled, “post/edit mode”.
  • Click on it.
  • Enter the password. ___________________
  • Click on the button labeled submit.

Now you can post new notes and edit notes that have already been posted. You are going to post a new note in your grade level's tab.

  • Click on the tab for your grade level.
  • Click on “add a note” in the upper right hand corner.

You should now see the add a note dialog.

  • The note title is what people will see when they look at a tab.
  • You can type your message in the large text box.
  • You can click on the “tips” link to get a description of the formatting tools above the box.
  • Click the submit button at the bottom of the page to save your new note.

Teacher Introduction

Create an introduction of yourself by answering the following questions.

  • Who are you?
  • What do you teach?
  • Where did you grow up, attend school, obtain advanced degrees?
  • How do you use technology in your classroom? And how can parents contact you, especially by using technology?
  • Why are you a teacher?
