The Last Mile

Welcome to Ella Dolhonde's Technology Newsletter for 2007 - 2008 school year (September 2007)

Welcome to The Last Mile, the technology integration and information newsletter for Ella Dolohnde.  Generally speaking the last mile is the final segment in a network that connects customers with the service provider.  Over the last several years the term has been used specifically in reference to providing consumers with Internet access that is much faster than current high speed Internet services (namely, cable and DSL).  Throughout this series of newsletters, I hope to connect you, the reader, to the vast world of computer technology.

Internet technology has grown increadablily fast.  New technologies are being developed constantly, and they are provided to all Internet users for free.  The Internet contains a bevey of communication and collaboration tools, streaming audio and video, search engines, and reference databases.  I intend to provide you with a small but useful sampling of some of the best resources and content available, and I hope that after reading these newsletters you will integrate these new ideas into your bag of tricks and your classroom.
