At DOT we believe that teachers are central to the effective use of ICTs for teaching and learning.  Teachers who are confident and empowered can harness the potential of technology to improve and expand education.

"As days progressed I saw that teachers were accepting the fact that the technology was making their lives easier and students were jumping up letter grades in some cases."
- Thang Duong, DOT USA TeachUp! Intern, 2006-2007

"Most people feel that if you are younger you can't work with them or even teach them anything.  But once you open up that relationship and build upon it you can grow and learn together."
- DOT USA TeachUp! Intern

As a result of their participation in the TeachUp! program, schools report an increase in students' participation in classroom work, improved literacy and science skills, a more positive learning experience for both students and teachers, and an overall increase in parents' participation in their children's academic progress.
