Inspired teachers, engaged students, connected schools.  That's what TeachUp! is all about.

Young Girl
"To see a child soaking up information and be excited by the method of instruction is a beautiful thing to watch."
- Lynn Nahmens, DOT USA Intern Support Manager and TeachUp! Intern Alumna (2006-2007)

Here's how our Interns described the ripple effect of the program:

"I was helping a high school life science teacher learn how to use an interactive whiteboard.  One-by-one, the students started asking questions about the technology until I was bombarded by questions from the students.  I ended up showing them scholarship information on the Internet, and showing the interactivity with the whiteboard.  I learned that the students really wanted to learn how the technology works, and that if they are engaged, could learn anything."
- DOT USA TeachUp! Intern, 2006-2007

"The first time arriving at my school the work seemed hard to be carried out.   A great number of teachers were not interested in the Promethean Activeboard.  We explained the functions step by step which were interesting to the teachers. I found that having teachers do it by themselves after we introduced a function was a better way to increase their interest. The project will give schools, teachers, and students more new technology that allows students and teachers the chance to realize the digital magic which was previously not there because of the digital divide!"
-Yubo Li, DOT China Intern, 2008-2009

Successes like these are now a reality in China, USA and Mexico.
