A DREAM

by Judith Nato last modified 2008-05-08 12:55

Some people call it a vision. It is difficult for anything to be done without a dream. It keeps you focused,it gives you direction,it inspires you.A man with no dream is like one with eyes but cannot see.It is because of the dreams that I have, dreams of the future I would like my generation to have, that I am able to make the right choices I make in life.

I am excited to be with DOT because I believe this is my stepping stone to achieving of my dreams. I would like to see members of my family in a position where they can lay a meal on the table at the end of the day without waiting for a wage.i would like to see my community members living independent lives where they can employ themselves, discover the potential they have and use them. Where else would I get such an opportunity apart from DOT? I am glad I was chosen as an intern. The knowledge and skills acquired during this internship will go miles in helping many people in my community and the sorounding communities. I will have achieved DOT's objective which is to empower people to use technology  for social and economic development

vision and mission

Posted by Gideon Kato Olieki at 2008-05-03 08:58
If I can draw parrallels between companies and people, then a vision is very important for any individual. I see every company proudly displaying their mission statement spelling their vision and mission and core values.
A vision says what you want to be ultimately. A mission tells us how you would achieve the vision.the core values are what you stand for.

For one to have a clear direction in life he/she needs to have a mission statement. Part of DOT reach up! programs objective is to help communities develop their mission statement. And this is a priority.
