Since 2002, over 1,200 Interns worldwide have capitalized on DOT’s training program and the internship.

DOT recruits and trains talented young people, ages 21-29, to share and transfer their knowledge through practical ICT-driven projects that respond to community needs in economic, education, health services, micro-enterprise and social development.   Through the efforts of these Interns, more than 14,500 community participants have been empowered to use ICT for local development, over 115,000 K-12 students benefited from a technology-enriched learning environment, and 5,700 K-12 teachers have been empowered to use technology in the classroom. 

The Intern Alumni program is designed to invest in these youth who have successfully completed a one year DOT internship.  The program provides former Interns with the opportunity to stay connected and maintain relationships with DOT and other Intern alumni through various means.

Program Objectives

The purpose of the program is to invest in our former Interns through offering job development resources and a social atmosphere by which to:

•  Stay Connected! Stay Involved! with alumni, ISMs and DOT
  

•  Information Resources! to provide career development and ICT resources to alumni
  

•  Idea Bank! Alumni can contribute ideas to DOT and with each other
  

• Volunteer! at special events, make presentations about experiences to our partners
  

•  Mentor! to new interns, offering a great opportunity and experience
  

•  Build Friendships! and lasting relationships with other alumni, Interns and staff

• Global Receptions and Regional Events - To celebrate the successes of the Interns and recognize their achievements.

• Alumni as Leaders - To engage our alumni to become leaders within the Intern Alumni community and work towards building a highly active social network of alumni; to further alumni career development paths.
