Sega Youth Polytechnic
Sega Youth Polytechnic was one of DOT Kenya's partners in Nyanza Province. I May 2008, 13 students of the polytechnic were enrolled in the ReachUp! programme at the institution. Below is a brief profile to the institution
Sega Youth Polytechnic is a Government Institution situated in Sega sub location, North Ugenya location, Ukwala Division, Siaya District in Nyanza Province of Kenya.
It was established in 1976 by Catholic Church as a training institution for the school leavers (post Primary and Secondary) both for boys and girls. The first manager was Mr. Anton Liwari and the chairman Rev Fr. Patrick Connelly. The current manager Mr. Maurice Ojowi is the tenth manager since the institution was established.
The main purpose of starting this institution was to help both primary and secondary leavers to develop skills and attitudes which will lead them into income earning activities in their rural areas as well as to learn to use their skills and talents in serving the communities in which they live.

The school has a population of 110 students with seven teachers. The institution administers national exams by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and by Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT).
The institution is managed by a Board of Governors of 15, 5 of which are women. The Institution received a donation from Simba Friends who set up a modern Computer lab with 20 workstations.
Some of the students in the institution are sponsored by organizations such as WOFAK -Women Fighting Aids in Kenya.
