Microsoft/Interwrite Workshop presented by Petal School District Interns

Name of Technology Used: MS Applications, Interwrite Technology

Name of Intern: Kevin Miller

School Name and Location:  Petal School District

Describe the Success Story:

Petal School District Interns created a Workshop on the features of MS Office Applications (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) and Interwrite Boards which was presented to teachers, faculty and staff of the Petal School District to increase the knowledge and use of MS in the classroom. The goal of this project was to assist teachers with successfully meeting some basic requirements which may be needed for the IC3. We hoped to help them become more efficient with MS Applications and the Interwrite Technology. We first presented at Petal Middle School during the teachers planning periods (5 total) on April 25, 2007. Our next presentation was on April 26, 2007 during a faculty meeting at Petal Elementary School (PES). PES is the school in which I was assigned to and here the teachers gave us (Interns) the best response according to our surveys in which we gave every teacher present. Our Third presentation was at WL Smith Elementary on April 30, 2007 during their faculty meeting. The last presentation was at Petal High School on May 4, 2007.

How did this activity/project benefit the teachers, students and the school?

We successfully presented at every school in Petal School District and we hope that the teachers will take what they learned from us and apply it into their classroom.
